Now I’m reasonably certain neither Superboy nor Mon-El actually need to eat.

Look at those two gluttons pack it away while poor Ma Kent works up more skyscraper-sized stacks of pancakes.

That’s okay, Li’l Hellboy, apparently Superboy and Mon-El will gladly eat them for you. Sheesh.

  1. The enormous stack of pancakes, used to illustrate a character’s enormous appetite, is one of those visual tropes that never work for me. Unless Ma Kent had a dozen very large griddles going at the same time, she must have spent a minimum of half an hour preparing that plateful she is bringing in. So, all I can think when I look at that picture is that the bottom half must be stone cold by now. That is not the way to serve pancakes.
