I can’t even conceive of a context where it makes sense that what is apparently the tortoise and the hare story features a tortoise with a nose ring suggesting that he and the hare “eat each other”. I would give anything for a peek inside the minds of old comic book writers to see their creative processes.
Also the tortoise looks like a crow.
