Just watched this last night. In a word, brilliant.
They did do the absolute best they could with what they had. No other live-action Batman production can say the same.
Musta been the kid’s hat that did it but at first,I read “Shane” for shame and thought, “What the heck..?”
I know Shane, “Shane! Shane!” I was wondering if the character in the episode was named Shame (a riff on that)? If so, brilliant! If not, great typo! Either way,fun stuff.
To clarify: the name of the villain in this episode is Shame, and was an intentional riff on the movie Shane.
I recently attended the first Wizard World con to come to New Orleans and the only reason I was willing to pay $30 to enter was that Burt Ward and Adam West were there. They did a Q&A panel and were great with wonderful senses of humor. They also had a booth for photos and autographs. I didn’t pay for those since I already have their signatures from way back in the mid 70s when I went to the World of Wheels to see the TV Batmobile and Adam and Burt were there, too. I remember waiting in line and being truly awestruck once I finally got up to meet them. That’s what happens when the original ABC network airings of the series imprint themselves on your 3-4 year old brain. I will always love those guys!
