At least I spelled it correctly.

So it’s only fair, if I’m going to present some anonymous person’s drawing on my site for everyone’s entertainment, I should put up one of my own. Thus, behold this stunning 1974 illustration of the world’s largest rodent by a 5-year-old Mike:

If I were drawn like that, I’d be angry too.

  1. I like it.
When purviewing your Diamond Previews for the EofC, do you ever come across any Capybara? It is EXTREMELY popular here in Japan and can be found in various forms and colours in any toy store and especially the UFO Catch machines. Nothing particularly naughty or amusing worthy of mention but I’m curious if it’s present.

  2. CW, Awesome clip. For no particular reason, I’d love to see all those lazy capybaras dressed in red Krypto capes.

  3. Fantastic! Impressed by the spelling AND the drawing. Well done five-year-old Mike!….I wonder how five-year-old Mike would’ve drawn Swamp Thing.

  4. Michael-Sensei – Sadly, there is a dearth of fine capybara merchandise available in any catalogs I have access to. I suspect our local zoos may redress this cultural omission, with any luck.

  5. How about reading a fantastic comic starring a Capybara then?
Joe Daly’s “Red Monkey Double Happiness Book” by Fantagraphics is grrrrreat!
