I know it’s just that Jughead’s leg and other items are in the way, but boy does it look like those second set of machines have anti-grav technology.
Kurt, nothing’s in the way. The artist just didn’t draw legs for the machines (or the inker didn’t ink them or the colorist missed them).
I beg to differ, but this is from the period where Archie had the great “Mental Mastery of Riverald” crossover in all their titles, when Dilton Doiley’s ESP experiments accidentally gave each of his closest friends some sort of mental powers: Jughead of course had telekinesis (he’s obviously levitating the pinball mahine), Archie had pyrokinesis (remember that great story where Veronica went with him to the prom after spending several grand on a dress and Archie accidentally burned it off?), Moose had mind-reading abilities (which meant he was going around slugging Reggie all the time), Reggie could see into the future (including abusing his power betting on races and the stock market), Betty could astral project her consciousness, and Midge could resurrect the dead. If I remember right it ended in a Sabrina Annual where Sabrina pulled all the powers out of everyone, briefly became Dark Sabrina, and then wound up having to project the powers into someone else, but nobody ever found out who it was. And then Hot Dog gives the reader a wink in the last panel.
Which one of those did Doc Brown use to fool the Libyans?
