1. Oh, I don’t know. I could imagine such a thing being manufactured and marketed to girls back then. It was the time of such games as Mystery Date, after all.

2. I agree. It doesn’t really seem any weirder than Mystery Date or Clue. And 1966-67 would have been the peak of the spy/secret agent fad (James Bond, Our Man Flint, Matt Helm, Man from U.N.C.L.E., Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., Mission:Impossible), so “spy” probably would have been one of the options.
