Someone came by the shop and donated a short box full of comics…not really much of interest in there, the usual smattering of random ’90s Marvel comics, but it did have:
…nineteen copies of West Coast Avengers Annual #3 from 1988. That’s a book value of up to tens of dollars!
You know, I’ve never actually read this particular comic. Now’s my chance to…well, probably not do so again.

I’d read it- I like the WCA, even though that issue does look a bit goofy.
If memory serves it’s pretty good but very Steve Englehart.
Someone was a huge fan of “Black Goliath”, or they thought investing in a life-altering revelation about the character would become the next comic to massively increase in valuable. Fans were already getting desperate with speculation in 1988.
The colors do jump out at you.

Is Bill Foster still dead?
I’ve only read one issue of the Evolutionary War crossover — ALF ANNUAL #1.
D-Bill Foster does seem to still be dead. His last “appearance” was as a ghost in Hades during the Incredible Hercules on-going. It seems his nephew later took up his identity and became a villain, blaming the Avengers for Foster’s death. I’m surprised Marvel didn’t try to resurrect him when he showed up in the MCU, which perhaps shows that Marvel is never going to find a use for him again. Will Bill Foster be the next Uncle Ben, a character who will never be brought back? Shame he died so disappointingly, in that case.
